In action sports like kitesurfing, paragliding, windsurfing and sailing, the demand for top-tier performance gear often leads to the production and processing of fabrics that aren't inherently eco-friendly. While the main goal is to utilise the fabrics as efficiently as possible, scraps from material nesting or material defects cannot be avoided completely. Aqua Dynamics saw an opportunity to turn this challenge into an innovative solution. Instead of letting excess materials go to waste, FabricCycle collects and repurposes them into fresh, functional products.
The process begins with the collection of cut-off pieces and scraps from the production. These materials may be too small or out of specification to use for their original purpose, but they still possess valuable qualities like durability and weather resistance at a relatively low weight. FabricCycle transforms them into a range of new items, including bags, backpacks, and accessories.
